AT THE CHILDCARE CENTRE

Diwali in the Toddler Room.

Lights in the window, colourful decorations and small hands waiting to see their henna patterns dry.

Diwali lamps and flowers on the Toddler Room windowsill

The Toddler Room was ready for Diwali with flowers, paper lamps and small lights around the room. Children noticed the changes as they arrived, stopping at the windowsill and the decorated board to look more closely.

LIGHT AND COLOUR

A room set up for the celebration.

There were bright colours, flowers and lamps at child height. The decorations gave children plenty to point to, talk about and return to during the day.

HENNA PATTERNS

Small designs, one hand at a time.

One by one, children sat down to have small henna designs drawn on their hands. While they waited, they watched the lines and dots build up.
