The Royal Oak Learning Centre is a home away from home learning centre. We pride ourselves on creating a home style environment. We build on the children’s interests helping them learn, grow and succeed.

Kindness, calmness, presence – are the essentials in our role model kit here at Royal Oak. Caring is as much a part of the curriculum as literacy and mathematics! Our main language is the language of kindness. That which is nurtured, blossoms and grows.

At Royal Oak Learning Centre, we believe that natural environments impact positively on quality education and care. We offer our students regular opportunities to connect with nature, both inside the Centre and during regular planned excursions.

We are licensed by the Ministry of Education to cater for children from four months to six years old. We are one big whānau that embraces a range of diverse cultures.

Both centres, which are within walking distance from each other, are well known for their homely indoor environments and natural outdoor spaces which speak to the heart.

We are proud of our child-centred environments that speak to the heart of the child. All our spaces, indoors and outdoors focus on natural open-ended materials that engage children’s brains and imagination. This is a place where they can not only grow but also blossom!

Our homely, family environments are set up to create emotional safety. It’s only when a child feels safe they can engage in an activity and learn. Safety includes safety from overstimulation. Richness and nourishment for the heart don’t come from having lots of stuff around, but from select, carefully chosen items for children to interact with. There is beauty in simplicity.

Royal childcare is a caring place where the focus is on the children and their well-being. The children are supported to develop their skills and to explore their abilities. My eldest daughter learnt most of her English at Royal oak daycare. She was an anxious little girl but the team patiently managed to settle her. The team of teachers is solid and has been consistent for years which demonstrates how nice the place is. My second one is attending preschool. She started at the baby room and loves the childcare since then. I am glad I found Royal oak childcare 6 years ago!

Our youngest child has been gong to Royal Oak for 6 months now & has a lovely time. The staff are caring & attentive, taking the time to get to know the children & we have been very impressed. Special touches, such as pictures of the children on the walls make us all feel welcome, & a varied outside space make Royal Oak Childcare Centre a lovely environnent for young children. When we say goodbye to our child, it is a great comfort to know that he is having a lovely time surrounded by lovely people.

Second Home for my kids. Absolutely love Royal Oak Childcare Centre whether it's the babies / toddlers or preschool section. Both my kids have enjoyed going here. The teachers are very caring and compassionate. They have a very good mix of activities that keep the kids busy along with lots of learning. We have always gone back to our kids smiling in this place - nothing more comforting than seeing them happy. Highly recommend it.
